With gut issues like small intestine bacterial overgrowth (SIBO), prebiotics can worsen symptoms by fueling bacteria in the small intestine, increasing bloating, gas, and discomfort. In contrast, targeted probiotics may help rebalance microbes, reduce harmful species, and support the gut barrier without feeding the overgrowth. Strains like Saccharomyces boulardii and certain soil-based spore-formers are less likely to drive fermentation and may crowd out problematic microbes while calming inflammation. For this reason, we don’t include prebiotics in our formula.
